Core Informatics
After a commercial career with EDS (Electronic Data Systems) and having established a successful Outsourcing Company for Microlife I decided to start my own company. As a result Core Informatics was established in 1989. Its goals were to become the first IT outsourcing services provider to larger SME’s. Taking over responsibility for the internal IT services department of these companies encompassed the transfer of all related assets and staff. By doing so for companies like Meneba, Nutricia, Wessanen, Gist Brocades and the BP refinery at Rozenburg, the company established three data centers in the Netherlands. In 1995 Core Informatics was sold to British Telcom via the Rijnhaave Group.
Closed Gap
Since 1999 I was involved in Gram Vikas, a fast growing NGO in Odisha, India. Travelling in and out of India I learned that the energy losses mounted up to US$5 billion annually. Efficient registration and “Meter-to-Cash” (MtC) systems were hardly or not in place yet at that time. Together with a group of investors we decided to modify a MtC system developed by Shell and tailor-make that for the Indian Energy market. We established a JV with a company called Enzen Global and started to adapt the systems and sell it to the Indian State Electricity Boards. The first successful contract was with Dakshin Haryana for Faridabad and Gurgaon (300,000 electricity meters). After having travelled three years back and forth to India we decided to sell the shares to our JV partner.
Van Kuyk Bod’or
First took over Van Kuijk Deuren BV, a company producing mainly interior doors. Within a year after that I took over Bod’or, which produced exterior doors mainly. Merged the two companies and moved all production facilities to Uden, where we produced about 120,000 doors annually. After three years we sold the company to Berkvenz in Someren.
